Lake temperature plot

This is the lake water (blue) and air temperature (red) plot for Sebec Lake, Maine from July through October. The water probe is at a depth of about 3 feet about 10 feet off shore. Water temperature is 50F now and going down. Won't be too long before ice-in.

The water temperature is dropping at a rate of about 10F/month which puts it near freezing at the end of December. That sounds about right as I've seen the lake freezover in the Dec-Jan time frame.

Do you have any data on warming trends? I would like to know when the lake unfreezes, and what the water temps are April, May and June. Thanks! Bil W.
